Press Release: Raleigh-Owned Coworking Space, The Loading Dock, Opens Two New Locations
October 12th, 2021 - The Loading Dock, a Raleigh-based coworking company, is embracing the future of flexible work with the opening of two new locations. With an emphasis on creating engaging and inspiring workspaces through adaptive reuse, the company has transformed two old warehouses located in West Raleigh and Downtown Wake Forest, to strategically expand their footprint across the Triangle.
The Beryl (West Raleigh) campus near Meredith College will house private offices, meeting rooms, spacious coworking tables, and a multi-functional classroom for up to 45 people. This site also offers cowarehousing, a unique concept pioneered by The Loading Dock at its flagship campus in Raleigh. Cowarehousing provides organizations and e-commerce businesses with all of the logistical support needed to help them become more operationally efficient. Accessibility to shared equipment, daily on-site shipping & receiving, a loading dock, and month-to-month agreements, provides members with cost-effective flexibility to help fuel growth.
Beryl is conveniently located off of the I-440/I-40 corridor, making it easily accessible to Research Triangle Park, Cary, Durham, and surrounding municipalities. “We are thrilled to welcome The Loading Dock to West Raleigh. Their new facility, located off Hillsborough Street, is another bright example of the continued redevelopment of our corridor. The Loading Dock is leveraging the power of our institutional partners such as NC State, Meredith College, and Rex Hospital to capitalize on the entrepreneurial power of our local workforce by giving them a place to work, grow and network,” Jeff Murison, President and CEO, Live It Up Hillsborough Street and the Blue Ridge Corridor Alliance.
The Wake Forest campus located on historic White Street will be the largest Loading Dock campus to date, offering coworking, 48 private offices, conference rooms, and an event space for over 200 people. This transformative project is an integral part of the Town of Wake Forest’s strategic expansion of downtown, fueling a desire to develop a business incubator space where a diverse group of start-ups and entrepreneurs can work alongside each other.
"The Loading Dock is honored to join the Town of Wake Forest and excited to expand our footprint in Raleigh. Our mission is to cultivate diverse and collaborative work communities, promote entrepreneurialism, and inspire a culture of doing good,” says Philip Freeman, The Loading Dock Founder, and CEO. “In that spirit, We look forward to helping lower the barriers to entrepreneurialism in pursuit of our vision for North Carolina to be nationally recognized as a hub for socially conscious businesses."
The Loading Dock offers a perfect post-COVID workplace solution as many companies are pivoting to remote work or a hybrid culture. Businesses can create custom membership plans for a successful return-to-work strategy, with flexible terms that allow for agility and pivoting as needed. The addition of these two locations enables remote teams to have an ideal gathering space for connectivity and collaboration.
Since its inception, the flagship Dock 1053 campus in Midtown Raleigh has maintained nearly full occupancy across office suites, cowarehousing and coworking, driving the demand for additional locations throughout the Triangle. With timely investments in infrastructure, brand awareness, and internal tools to support member engagement, The Loading Dock is well-positioned to strategically evaluate future expansion opportunities.
The Loading Dock is excited to celebrate the opening of these two new locations. Join them for the Beryl Launch Party on October 28th, 2021 from 4-7pm. There will be food, beverages, live music, and a ribbon-cutting with The Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
The Loading Dock will be hosting a Wake Forest Launch Party and holiday market in collaboration with Triangle Pop-up on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 from 11am-3pm. There will be food, beverages, live music, and keynote speakers representing members of the greater Wake Forest community.
