ARTSHOWCASE
JOIN US for the Prince Hall First Friday Art Invitational! Hosted by our very own, David Rubin. David is an abstract artist with a science background. For about two decades most of his painting was in watercolor but after moving to the Triangle from Chicago, he switched to acrylics particularly because of the texture and structure it allows. https://www.davidrubinpaintings.com/
Come check out his amazing work! 🎨
TONIGHT, 7pm-10pm @ our Prince Hall location
MEMBERSPOTLIGHT
We have another awesome highlight this month! Meet Lisa and her team from Pickle Pie Designs :)
Hey all! I'm Lisa, the owner, and Creative Director. I started Pickle Pie Designs 13 years ago and have mostly worked at home. I have an amazing team, including Janet, our customer service coordinator, Linda, our design assistant, and Emma and Hannah, our studio assistants.
Pickle Pie Designs creates digital sewing designs and patterns that are automated so your embroidery machine does most of the sewing work to construct a finished product. We sell the pattern & instructions, and our end-user makes the finished product.
Our designs range from pillows and purses to quilts, and more. We sell our downloadable designs to consumers via our website, and we also package our designs for sale to distributors as well as sewing machine dealers across the country, and internationally.
I was a stay-at-home Mom when my kids were tiny, and I loved sewing outfits and accessories for them. When they were invited to birthday parties, I always made a gift for the birthday kid (a personalized tote bag or pillow). The other Moms took notice and offered to pay me to make items for their kids. I soon got overloaded with requests and realized I loved the design aspect, but not making the same item over and over. Since I designed my own items, I decided to put a few of my embroidery designs and sewing patterns on Etsy to see what would happen. The business took off from there and it eventually allowed me to work from home and raise my kids as a single mom.
I've been casually looking for new space for the business for a couple of years but didn't want to commit to a 5-year lease. Our consumer business grew over the last year, as a result of our customers spending more time at home during the pandemic. My home and our storage unit were busting at the seams so I started seriously looking at space. I was lucky to have come across the new Loading Dock location, with flexible room to grow, and no five-year lease requirement.

We love having you at Beryl, Pickle Pie Designs! :)
